Casino pepper spray attack
An Australian casino was evacuated on Sunday night after a suspected pepper spray attack. A man was seen spraying an aerosol container close to a table at the Burswood casino just before 5pm Sunday, according to a police spokesperson, who added that police, the fire brigade and ambulances arrived at the scene and evacuated 2,200 people from the casino.
Shortly after the main was seen spraying the container, a croupier started experiencing breathing difficulties symptomatic of pepper spray inhalation. The croupier was taken to hospital, where he was later released. Three others were treated at the casino for respiratory problems. 'The air conditioning system was shut off and the area was cordoned off and contained,' the spokesman said.
The assailant, was accompanied by two or three others. Police were examining footage from the incident caught on closed circuit footage of the casino floor, and were attempting to identify the attackers. Charges including assault and assault occasioning bodily harm could be brought.
