Italian lottery technology and solutions provider Gruppo Lottomatica has announced the completion of its purchase of casino gaming equipment developer and manufacturer Atronic from Germany’s Gauselmann AG for $49.6 million.
Lubbecke-based Atronic is the only European slot machine manufacturer licensed in Nevada and Lottomatica stated that the purchase was carried out through its GTech Corporation subsidiary. In January, GTech acquired a 50 percent controlling interest in Atronic for $31 million in a deal now totalling just over $293 million, which includes approximately $212.5 million of debt.
“Lottomatica is one of the world's largest commercial lottery operators and a market leader in the Italian gaming industry,” read a statement from Atronic.
“GTech is a leading gaming technology and services company providing innovative technology, creative content and superior service delivery. GTech and Lottomatica together create a fully integrated lottery operator and gaming technology solutions provider, a combined company with worldwide scale, considerable financial strength and industry-leading customer solutions.”
