Philweb takes cockfight betting online
The state-run Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp (Pagcor) and Philweb Corporation are launching an online betting version of the popular Filipino cockfights, considered the national sport next to basketball later this month. Philweb is one of Philippines' largest online betting operators. It had earlier signed a deal to operate Pagcor’s online sports betting and casinos.
Both the partners estimate the game will generate annual revenues in excess of 60 billion pesos (about $US1 billion).
