Blackjack for iPhone
Among the new games planned for release on the iPhone is a Blackjack game predicted to be a huge success. According to iPhonematters.com, mobile gaming company Mobileage has developed the programme which will be available for play on both of Apple's touch screen offerings, the iPhone and iPod Touch. With the versatility of the touch screen format, it is thought that the game will be a massive success, particularly with the increased ease of online gaming and internet access through mobile phones. Blackjack 21 will be available for purchase through the iTunes App Store later on in the year. Players will be able to use the same gestures utilised in real life casino play as well as downloading different artwork for their tables and cards to individualise the game on their handsets. The Gambling Commission published statistics last year showing that 5.2 per cent of adults engaged in remote gaming with 2.2 per cent gambling via mobile phone in 2006.
