Crown Casino To Benefit From New Australian Lockout Laws
In a move which is being repeated in many areas of the world, Australian authorities have announced plans to stop people entering inner city pubs, clubs and bars after 2am in a move designed to combat the growing problem of alcohol abuse. However the move, which is being trialled in Melbourne, Stonnington, Port Phillip and Yarra has attracted a furious reaction from locals and bar owners alike.<br />

Such is the growing unrest, there are rumours of court action and wide spread protests on the streets, but the casino industry looks set to benefit. As casinos are exempt from the 2am lock out rule it has been noted that many protestors plan to use the casino floors as a late night ‘watering hole’. While this should improve attendance and turnover substantially, there are concerns about security.<br />

Crown, the largest casino operator in Australia, has noted the planned protests and change in drinking venues. While they welcome the increased business and memberships, they are monitoring the security aspect very carefully to ensure that their venues are not compromised in any way. <br />
<br />
The general feeling seems to be that the authorities will back down in the end, but if the changes remain then it will have a massive impact on casinos in the areas mentioned above.
