52Bet.com gets into the Whitehouse race
With the US Presidential race heating up, London’s Publicly Traded Sportsbook & Casino, the operator of 52Bet.com has reported a boost in its traffic. The online sports bookie claims there has been an upsurge of calls to their customer service number, requesting information on the Presidential odds, with several potential bettors calling their hotline several times a day.
Recent electoral polls, suggest that a plus/minus 3 percentage points, separating the contestants. Cheney is a foregone conclusion to be George W's 2004 running mate. George W is known for his loyalty and will not seek a new running mate. The short list for Kerry, among others, includes Edwards and Gephart. Bill Clinton’s better half, Hillary Clinton is still talked about in Democratic circles as a possible VP mate.
52bet.com, which claims to have processed over US$3.3 billion in audited wagers in its seven years of operations, says the ongoing election is proving good for them.
‘We are experiencing a record high volume of wagering on this election never before seen at this early stage. There are those who are definitely in the Kerry camp while George W the 43rd, have his loyal following. These individuals have placed their bets on the election’s outcome, despite seven months remaining until November,’ says Robert Anderson, Chief Marketing Officer of 52bet.com.

‘The unknown factor in this entire election equation are the independent voters’, states Anderson. ‘Both backers of the Bush and Kerry camps are placing their bets on what they believe will be the trend of these independent voters. They are convinced they are right and have wagered accordingly,’ he adds.
