Chimera turns it gaze Eastward
Chimera intends to branch out into the Asian online gambling market. China is expected to have the biggest number of internet users in the next four years, according to the Internet Society of China.
Gambling and entertainment research firm Christiansen Capital Advisors estimates the number of Asian online gamblers will almost double in the next two years; from 4 million in 2003 to 7.4 million by 2006.
Chimera Technology has secured $1,000,000 of equity financing to help realise its plans. This year Chimera has already announced three key initiatives that it wishes to follow to capitalise on the growing online market; initiating business in Asia, and launching two new platforms.
Chimera plan to launch a platform to host pari-mutuel thoroughbred horse race wagering in the next two months. It will compliment the company’s sports book wagering platform and the upcoming casino games platform. It has been estimated that close to $150 billion is wagered annually on the pari-mutuel market. The aforementioned casino games platform is also scheduled for launch in the next 60 days and will include all the usual games that players have come to expect from an online casino, and no doubt some others too.
