Super Bowl promises online betting excitement for bookies

The Super Bowl XXXVIII is here, which means it's time for lots of sporting action and money to be made and lost for online bookies and bettors. Wagering on the NFL championship has now turned into a ritual with office workers and sports bettors. Cashing on the 'Bowl Fever' BetWWTS.com today announced that it expects to receive well over $1.5 million in Super Bowl wagers on the first day of gaming.

The 10-year old offshore gaming bookie is betting that a large chunk of wagering customers will be on Super Bowl Sunday. World Wide Tele-Sports, the parent company of BetWWTS.com and a part of BetCorp group operates other online betting sites such as WagerOnSports.com, BetP2P.com, BetCasino.com and BetAffiliate. The company hopes its network would rake in more than $1.5 million for the mega event.

Simon Noble, CEO of BetWWTS.com says that going by historic data, this year's Super Bowl will generate some of heaviest betting action of any sporting event in the world. 'We fully expect to exceed $1.5 million in wagers on the game itself on Super Bowl Sunday alone,' he adds. The Antigua based operator, accepted more than $155 million in football bets during the regular season.

Currently, New England has a 7 point favorite over Carolina at BetWWTS.com with the over/under line for total points scored in the Super Bowl set at 37 1/2 points. With more than 100 additional betting options BetWWTS.com is hoping that this would be the best time to cash on sports bettors. To broaden its bettors base from heavy hitters to small timers, the website will be accepting Super Bowl wagers ranging from $10 to $1 million on a single bet.

BetWWTS.com isn't alone in the money grab. For instance, there are more than 153 licensed sports bookies in the state of Nevada alone which have reported an average of $468,627 in Super Bowl bets in 2003. This year that amount is expected to go only north.
