Racing UK, rival channel to AtTheRaces, has confirmed that, through a deal struck with digital cable operator, Telewest Broadband, its horse racing coverage will reach a million more homes in the UK as of today on Telewest channel 537. The channel, owned by thirty of Britain’s racecourses, will now be available to 8.5 million satellite subscribers.
Racing UK executive chairman, Simon Bazalgette, told the Racing Post: “We are making life as easy as possible for anyone who wants to be able to see the best racing from the best courses.
“We have been inundated with requests from cable customers who want to subscribe. Telewest Broadband has been typically quick to recognise the value of such a quality service to its customers.”
Philip Snalune, marketing director at Telewest Broadband added: “We are delighted to extend the sports coverage we offer our customers and are confident of the demand for quality horseracing on a dedicated subscription channel.”
