Vis iTV Takes I-Race Virtual Horse Racing to Global Market

Vis iTV has announced that it is close to sealing a deal with a ‘global bookmaker’ that would distribute its I-Race, its virtual horse racing product to Internet bookmakers worldwide. The company added that it would reveal the identity of its prestigious client later this week and that it hoped to have an online version of the product launched in Britain by the beginning of 2005.

The deal, which Vis iTV has hinted is expected to bring in ‘several million pounds’ worth of net revenue in its first year, is part of several recent high profile agreement, including a contract with YouBet to provide a fantasy management version of the I-Race product. Chief executive, Simon Grieve has said he is also currently negotiating with two parties that would facilitate the distribution of I-Race betting terminals throughout UK betting shops.

Vis iTV are clearly beginning to the reap the rewards six million pounds investment and four years product development, which included the setback of the company’s headquarters being engulfed by fire several years ago.

I-Race, has been developed for the internet, interactive television and mobile phones. The emphasis is on realism, with realistic sound effects, thundering hoofs and voice commentary. The gambling version of the game made its debut in December on a new Sky Digital channel called iSportsTV.

Grieve says that the next challenge will be to find an Asian distributor for the product.
