WPT Announces Licensing Alliance with Newman International
WORLD POKER TOUR™ (WPT) products are going down under! Building upon the favorable reception to licensed products offered in Australia by WPT Enterprises, Inc. (Nasdaq: WPTE), the company has elected to go “All-In” to the market by retaining Melbourne headquartered-Newman International Group, the full-service Australasian brand management agency.
Newman will be charged with expanding the growing base of regional licensees marketing WPT branded products based on the television show and sports league that launched the worldwide poker boom. In Australia the WPT airs on Channel 10 and Foxtel, two of more than 60 international networks carrying the WPT around the globe.
“Australia has already proven to be a wonderfully receptive country for WPT-brand products and we are truly excited to be joining forces with Newman International because we believe the company has the expertise to exponentially increase our licensing line-up in the region,” said Andrea Green, WPTE Director of Global Consumer Products, in announcing the alliance just before the Licensing Show in New York City.
