After starting the season at 1-4 both SU and ATS in their first five lined games, we certainly lend South Florida credit for their resilient play of late. The formerly pedestrian Bulls offense has somehow managed 86 points along with two blowout wins vs. UAB and East Carolina in their past two respective contests. RB Andre Hall continues to shine for USF, grinding out 122.8 yards per contest on the ground and is actually ranked third nationally in all-purpose yards. The Bearcats role into this contest on a 3-0 SU and ATS run, having pasted their past three opponents by a combined score of 122 to 44. This feat becomes more notable when you realize that these wins have come over some of C-USA’s elite. That is, Cincy pasted Memphis 49-10, took care of TCU 21-10 and then went into Hattiesburg and waxed defending C-USA Champions Southern Miss 52-24. Note that the Bearcats outscored these three foes 71-17 in the first half of these three respective games, with several of the points allowed during this span coming in garbage time.
The Bearcats four year starting QB, Guidugli, threw for 308 yards with five touchdowns and zero interceptions vs. the Golden Eagles, improving his overall marks to a whopping 2,025 yards passing with a 21/7 – TD/INT ratio for the season. Cincinnati’s run game is also in high gear, pounding out better than 206.3 yards per game during this latest stretch. With Louisville on deck, the Bearcats are in an absolute must win situation to become bowl eligible and should have no trouble putting the wood to this improved, but still inferior South Florida team. Lay it!
