Online Gaming & Sports Portal Makeover
The sports website, Sportal.com owned by the online bookmaker UKBetting.com, is being reinvented as an Internet sports channel. The channel will show streamed sports coverage and news, showing everything from conference football to horseracing.
The site will be free and will be supported by advertising revenue and is being advertised by Orange and through UKBetting’s numerous online gambling sites. Sportal.com, once valued at over £200 million, was acquired by UKBetting in 2001 for an astonishing £1 deal, after the site was nearly bankrupted.
UKBetting now runs an impressive portfolio of sports and betting sites including www.ukbetting.com, www.totalbet.com, www.football365.com and www.planetrugby.com.
