Motown Greats To Open Online Casino
The Four Tops, The Miracles and The Contours, amongst other Motown greats, have agreed to invest in and market an online casino due for release in February 2006. The move comes despite the United States prohibiting online gambling.
Herb Strather, the Detroit developer behind the online casino, said the Internet gaming site will be called ‘Motown Legends Casino’, where gamblers will be able to place bets in 64 countries that allow Internet gaming, including the United Kingdom. US gamers will also be able to play the online casino - but for fun only.
The site is expected to generate $10 billion in profits this year, according to gaming analysts and will include a music tour by the Motown greats.
Strather says, 'The tour will include the Four Tops, the Miracles, the Contours and many more. We're calling it Motown Music Fest and we hope it will draw a lot of fans and a lot of attention to Motown Legends Casino.'
Charles Davis, a vocalist for legendary group, and partners in this new online casino venture, The Contours, said of his involvement, 'We feel the casino is a great idea and we're looking forward to the tour.”
