UK College Gambles on Casino Courses
For the first time, a special ‘gambling academy’ is to be set up in the UK that will offer casino fans the chance to study for a degree in roulette, blackjack or casino management.
The gambling academy will form part of a new department in the Blackpool and the Fylde College, which is just footsteps away from the town’s infamous Golden Mile – home of the Blackpool Lights, The Big One and The Krankies.
Blackpool is widely tipped to become the gambling Mecca of the UK in the coming years so new graduates won’t have far to travel in order to put their degrees to work.
The College will enlist its first 350 students next month who will study for a City and Guilds accredited qualification, which will be available at both GCSE and Degree level.
Successful applicants to the course will choose from a range of gambling oriented courses including, training as a croupier and slot-machine engineering.
