Phil Hellmuth to Co-Host Celebrity Poker Showdown
The joys of spring will be extra special in 2006 thanks to the presence of Phil Hellmuth on your TV. The poker giant will be the next host of Celebrity Poker Showdown, along with comedian Dave Foley, with filming due to start soon. Bravo have also announced that the show will be based in New Orleans, in the latest attempt to give poker a more charitable face and hand over large sums of cash to the hurricane destroyed city.
As the home of poker, New Orleans was an obvious choice, said Bravo. It’s hoped that with the celebs coming to town, the casinos will start to thrive again, although whether any of the money that comes in through the doors goes back into the town remains to be seen. In the meantime, poker will be the focus, with famous participants due to be announced in the coming weeks.
