Without question, Boston is one heck of a strong baseball team this year. But the MLB season is long and even the best go into slumps, which is happening a bit to the Sox right now. Note also that he has an ERA of 6.55 and a WHIP of 1.879 in his five career starts vs. Toronto. The Blue Birds will counter with Miller, who carries a nice 3.00 ERA and 1.278 WHIP on the season. At the Skydome, Miller brings a minuscule 2.08 ERA and 1.077 WHIP. We should also mention that Miller has an ERA of 3.46 and a WHIP of 1.231 in his two career starts vs. the BoSox.
The Blue Jays smashed Boston and Schilling 12-6 yesterday and have actually won the past two meetings by the combined count of 19-9. Given how each team is playing and also the pitching match up, the wrong team is favored here. We will take the Blue Jays as a home dog (bird?) in this situation every day of the week and twice on Friday.
