You Can Count on Us say Intertops
Antigua based online gaming company Intertops has revealed that it will remain open for business and will continue to accept all bets and process all payments from American citizens.
The online gaming operator which provides online sports betting, casino and poker facilities, has responded to the fallout from the passing of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA) by claiming that online gaming is ‘legal in most US states and sanctioned by the World Trade Organisation.’
A company statement read, “We are licensed and regulated in both Canada and Antigua and comply with every law within the jurisdictions in which we operate. We are dedicated to offering our worldwide customers an efficient and enjoyable service via our online sportsbook, casino, poker room and games. As a privately owned and independent company we have arranged to fully accept and disperse payments for US-based gamblers.'
The signing of the UIGEA which was attached to the Safe Ports Act by President Bush earlier this month, forced many publicly traded companies to pull out of the US market, with some selling off their US facing businesses for token amounts.
However Intertops are ready to welcome a new base of customers, many of whom have lost betting accounts at other sites that have closed down as a result of the UIGEA.
The statement continued, “Intertops has been in business for 23 years, 10 of them online. Our reputation as a responsible and trustworthy gaming site stands alone and we will continue to ensure that deposits and payouts are as quick and safe as they have always been.'
Intertops began its online betting platform in 1996 with an online casino following in 1997, and its poker room and games suite being added in 2003.
