Atlantic City Shutdown Creates Online Casino Boom
Residents of the Atlantic City area are not missing a beat when it comes to looking for a bet. With the New Jersey government shut down for the fifth straight day, causing the first closure of the city's casinos in more than a quarter century, gamblers are turning to online casinos like Sportsbook.com for their gambling entertainment.
With the government reportedly looking at a loss of approximately $1.3 million a day in taxes, which it generates from the state's 12 casinos, the loss of traffic to online casinos is of significant concern.
Alex Czajkowski, Marketing Director Sportsbook.com, said, 'We've experienced a significant increase in the amount of casino and poker related revenue on our site today from our customers in and around the Atlantic City area.
'One of the benefits of online gambling and what makes our business so successful is the fact that people can enjoy what we have to offer at any time and from anywhere - we're never closed.'
