Indian actress Shilpa Shetty is an odds-on favourite to win Celebrity Big Brother after she won the phone vote against fellow housemate Jade Goody on Friday.
The Bollywood beauty, 31, is as short as 8/13 with Sporting Odds with little better to be found on the betting exchanges. Jermaine Jackson has moved into 2nd place in the running at 8/1 closely followed by A-Team actor Dirk Benedict at 9s. Model Danielle Lloyd is hot favourite to be evicted next.
8.8 million people watched as former Big Brother winner Goody was evicted from the house after a controversial week in which alleged racism and bullying was directed at Shetty from some of the other housemates. Questions were asked in the House of Commons over Channel 4’s handling of the affair and there were riots in India at the actress’s treatment.
Following Goody's eviction bookmakers William Hill slashed the odds for Channel 4 axing the current Celebrity Big Brother series to 50-1.
Such is her increased profile since entering the CBB house, Shilpa is set to be invited to present the Asian Poker Classic in Goa in March.
