Online Casino Leaves Gibraltar
Just two weeks after announcing its withdrawal from the US market, Bowmans International has announced severe cut backs to its operations by closing its Gibraltar's office and downsizing operations at its Mauritius call centre headquarters.
The company had confirmed at the end of November that all of its US based player accounts were to be transferred to Bodog.com, as it refocused its strategic development towards Canada, Europe and Asia.
However, Bowmans have struggled to find a replacement to their existing poker and casino software providers ever since the approval by the US Congress of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act on September 30.
Reports emanating from Online Wire sources in Gibraltar confirmed today that all personnel on the UK enclave in Spain will be dismissed at the end of this week.
This is another major blow for the gaming sector of Gibraltar, who lost a number of work places last week when 888.com dismissed 140 employees.
