Online poker operator VIP.com Poker has announced the winner of Friday’s $12,000 Aussie Millions Freeroll tournament, which will see VIP.com Poker regular Nuno S become one of the first online qualifiers to the Aussie Millions live event.
The online poker player signed up to VIP.com Poker through PokerNews and will now be heading down under to battle for the $1 million prize at the Aussie Millions tournament at the Crown Casino in Melbourne in January.
Nuno, a 31-year-old accountant from Marinha Grande, Portugal, began playing online poker over two years ago after following the game through televised events, and now faces the slightly daunting prospect of playing in his first major poker tournament.
'It's a great prize, and it's even greater because it was won at a freeroll,' Nuno enthused following his win. 'It will be the second-greatest experience of my life, after the birth of my daughter.”
VIP.com Poker will be providing airfare, accommodation, spending money and tournament fee for the Melbourne trip, with manager John Olsen expressing his delight.
