Harrah's strike PokerTek deal
Harrah's Operating Company has struck a long-term deal to roll out automated PokerTek poker tables across its 50 casinos.
Already one of the largest poker operators, with meccas in six countries and playing host to the annual World Series of Poker, Harrah's believes that both novice and stalwart gamers will benefit from the new tables.
"We believe that there is a market for automated poker throughout our properties," said Gerry Tuthill, corporate vice president of table games for Harrah's. "Poker continues to boom and many players who have learned the game enjoy the fast paced action PokerPro tables offer."
Current PokerTek products are the ten-seated PokerPro table and the PokerPro Heads-Up, which allows two players to compete against each other.
Lou White, CEO of PokerTek said of the deal: "Harrah's has a long track record of successfully launching gaming innovations and we believe this transaction will benefit the PokerPro brand."
