Professor Nelson Rose to Address GIGSE
Professor Nelson Rose will provide the keynote address at this year’s ninth annual Global Interactive Gaming Sumit and Expo, at Palais des Congres in downtown Montreal from the 5 to the 7 of June. The world-renowned expert co-wrote the first major book on Internet gaming, has an internationally-syndicated column ‘Gambling and the Law’ and is co-editor of the Gaming Law Review.
Consulting on both sides of the gambling debate, he has worked with online gamling and online poker companies as well as the National Conference of State Legislatures and national governments. His keynote address will examine the industry’s history and look at what the future may hold, particularly some countries’ attempts to exclude foreign online gaming operators.
River City Group CEO Sue Schneider said, “We’re pleased that he’ll be offering GIGSE attendees his perspective on what’s been a rocky year around the world for the industry, and his predictions for its future.”
Professor Rose, who predicted the introduction of the Unlawful Internet Gaming Enforcement Act, also predicts that it will be toned down. His foresight when it comes to anticipaing the next steps the industry will take, has been a key feature of his success, and he has often spoken publicly on the legal conundrums surrounding online casino gambling.
