eCOGRA’s Fair Gaming Advocate (FGA) has published its latest dispute statistics showing that 54 percent of disputes over the period between January and April this year, were settled in favour of the player. The non-profit body oversees the fair treatment of players and promotes responsible and regulated companies within the industry.

FGA spokesman Tex Rees also noted that the body had noticed a decline in, “The number of irrelevant or rant complaints that contain insufficient information to be usefully considered.”

However, Rees also said that there was a 19 percent increase in the number of complaints received, which is attributed to a greater awareness of eCOGRA itself, not a disintegration of industry standards.

More and more players now know that they have an advocate to represent them in case of a dispute with any online casino or online poker room displaying eCOGRA’s ‘Safe and Fair’ seal. All punters using ‘Safe and Fair’ seal online casinos are entitled to the service free of charge – unless the country from which they gamble online has outlawed the activity.
