London has been named by poker magazine Bluff Europe as the top city on the continent for poker action.
Writers for the respected poker publication said that the diversity of games available in the English capital was unrivalled anywhere else in Europe, with London offering home games and top poker tournaments
It has also been announced that the World Series Of Poker Europe tournament will come to London this autumn and the capital's casinos will play host to a leg of the European Poker Tour and the Grosvenor Poker Tour Grand Final. Bluff Europe editor-in-chief, Michael Caselli, said, "London is super hot right now - it's really making a name for itself on the poker scene. While other cities like Dublin and Barcelona are benefiting from the growth of poker, its London that is getting the greatest number of big money tournaments. With the WSOP kicking off its European contests here, London is becoming a key destination on the world poker calendar - it's like Europe's Las Vegas."
London currently has 24 casinos and numerous card rooms but if the proposed Manchester supercasino plans go ahead, even the new Empire Casino that opened in Leicester Square last month might pale in comparison to what could be the largest mecca in Europe.
