Bwin, now the world’s largest publicly listed online gaming provider, has announced a significant increase in its revenue and custom for the first quarter (Q1) of 2007.
The Vienna based company reported gross gaming revenues of €89.4 million (the sum of gross gaming revenues from betting operations, poker, casino and games) compared to €71.3 million for the same period last year, while gross revenue from sportsbetting hit €50.1 million compared to €39.2 million in the first quarter of 2006.
The results have helped bwin achieve its desired status as one of the leading international gaming firms in terms of both the number of active customers and gross and net gaming revenues.
The bwin group has more than 11 million registered customers (including 7 million 'play money' customers) in over 20 central markets, operating in countries such as Gibraltar, Canada, Belize, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Austria and the United Kingdom.
