Online Casino Set to Make Its Mark Offline
Leading online casino site, Casino Red, has revealed plans for a £5 million land-based casino in Huddersfield, UK.
The company plans to convert the historic Princess Cinema, which has also taken on the guise of a nightclub and a restaurant since its hey day as the former town centre a picture house, and has employed, a Leeds-based design company, WDL, to draw up the plans.
The casino is set to be operational in 12 months time and will house a poker room in the basement, while ground floor will host blackjack, roulette and gaming machines, and the first floor will be home to a mezzanine circle boasting a 85-place restaurant and bar. The top floor has been reserved for a possible VIP section.
The company has also promised that the project will create120 jobs for the local area. Casino Red Chief Executive Nicholas Boyes-Hunter said: ‘We chose Huddersfield out of hundreds of possible towns and cities - but it was an easy decision.’
‘It is a vibrant town with a thriving social scene. We knew, on viewing the old cinema, that we could develop a spectacular site in a tremendous location.’
