Caribbeansunpoker.com's ads heat up the action
Recently gambling magazines have rejected Peak Entertainment's Caribbean Sun Poker's ads (caribbeansunpoker.com) for being too racy. In defense Johnny Jordane, Peak's Director of Promotions says, ‘We are using face cards in our campaign for Caribbean Sun Poker. They talk to each other, using double-entendres. We weren't showing anything violent nor were we showing nude images or anything distasteful.’
The campaign's 'It's hotter here' tagline has already facing several rejections by several publications. According to the online casino operator, the rejections were a surprise to them as the illustrations used in the ads were prominent design features of CaribbeanSunPoker.com. Peak has been asked to 'tame' the ads for trade magazines such as Card Player. However few magazines such as Poker Europa, Southern California Gaming, and Canadian Poker Player have accepted the original ads without incident and are running them.
The two-year online poker company says that advertising that doesn't get any attention isn't really doing its job. The Willemstad, Curacao-based Peak Entertainment currently owns and operates five online casino properties and a player-to-player poker room under multiple gaming licenses from the government of Curacao. Websites include OmniCasino.com, CarSands.com, 1on1Casino.com and the 3DiamondsCasino.com. The Carribeansunpoker.com network currently has more than 250,000 registered players worldwide and claims to have processed more than $3 billion in wagers since the first website was licensed and launched in 1997.
