Canada men in casino cart joyride
Two men have been charged with joyriding after allegedly stealing a casino golf cart at the weekend.
The suspects were charged after they took a casino vehicle early on Sunday morning and drove it across the downtown area of Sault Ste Marie in Ontario, the Sault Star reports.
Lawrence Foreman, 21, of 480 Shannon Road and Joshua Kerns, 22, of 107 Bellevue Avenue have been charged with stealing the vehicle, which is used to transport OLG Casino Sault Ste customers from the parking area to the main building at the casino resort on Bay Street.
Police officers spotted the two men as they drove the casino's cart around Pine Street and Breton Road. Although initially the felons attempted to flee the authorities, one was tracked down by the polices' canine unit while the other ended up turning himself in.
The pair will now face charges of theft over $5,000 at their court appearance on September 10th.
Lord knows why the defendants attempted to get their kicks in a casino golf cart when the area is renowned for its skiing and snowboarding facilities.
