Casino signs up super-chef
In a ground-breaking move, the Cosmopolitan Resort & Casino is the first Las Vegas resort to announce a partnership with a celebrity chef that encompasses the entire culinary running of the complex.
Wolfgang Puck's catering company will join the casino resort as exclusive catering partner, meaning that the firm will not only be in charge of the restaurant, but will also provide catering for banquets and room service orders. Wolfgang Puck Catering will also provide the food and drink for the hotel room's mini bars and the staff canteen.
The $3 Billion Cosmopolitan Resort & Casino will open on the Las Vegas strip in 2009.
"I've been a part of some amazing, cutting-edge endeavors," said Wolfgang Puck. "But this creative partnership with The Cosmopolitan Resort & Casino has me especially excited. We share a common desire to achieve a high standard for fine dining, and this allows us to share our passion outside of a restaurant setting."
Audrey Oswell, chief operating officer of the Cosmopolitan Resort & Casino, commented: "Wolfgang Puck exemplifies the ultimate in culinary arts and restaurant hospitality. This collaboration will merge gourmet dining with other non-traditional facets of our hotel and resort, allowing us to immerse Vegas visitors and residents in an unprecedented style of sophistication."
