Online Casino Group Determined Not to Lose Rank

Rank, a leading gaming group with casino and bingo interests, has announced that they will be attempting to compensate for potential losses due to this years smoking ban, with the introduction of a £1million jackpot and outdoor booths at its bingo halls.

The group, which operators of Mecca Bingo halls and online betting site Blue Square, will start offering £2 tickets for Mecca Millionaire from tomorrow, with a jackpot expected to be scooped every 45 days on average.

Rank Chief Executive Ian Burke said: ‘We are doing everything we can to make going to our bingo halls and casinos as attractive as possible.

‘The Millionaire game will be the biggest amount we have ever offered. And it will have rollovers if there is no winner.

‘We are always looking at ways to make all our businesses have as wide an appeal as possible.’

Advertisement profits at Rank, which also runs Grosvenor Casinos, were £37.3million for the first six months of this year, a significant improvement on £21.9 million for the same period last year.
