McCririck makes booby at WSOPE
John McCririck may know his horse racing tips, but it appears that he does not know how to conduct himself at a charity poker match.
According to the Independent, the racing pundit arrived at Leicester Square's Empire Casino on Wednesday night, accompanied by his wife, who he 'affectionately' refers to as 'the Booby', to take part in the World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE).
However, we will never know if McCririck is as talented at poker as he is of making a fool of himself as he walked out before the game began.
Although the Celebrity Big Brother, ahem, star had been invited to take part in the WSOPE's charity poker tournament in aid of Darfur's anti-genocide charity Ante Up For Africa, it seems that McCririck was determined to keep a hold on his purse strings.
At 10:30pm, after sitting down at the poker table, McCririck had a tantrum after being asked for his £500 buy-in fee.
Believing that the event's sponsor was supposed to be paying for his playing, McCririck refused to play unless they covered his entrance fee, despite it being a charity match.
After being told that all players had to pay for their own chips, McCririck stormed out, leaving an organiser saying: "He got the hump. It's a shame."
