Brown's briefing on casinos and gambling
At a briefing at Downing Street over the Gambling Commission's most recent report, journalists were told that the Prime Minister's views remained unchanged.
A spokesman for Gordon Brown said that his attitudes towards both supercasinos and smaller casinos were well documented and had not changed.
The spokesman said that the outcome of a review on smaller casinos would be due in July.
However, in relation to supercasinos and regeneration the Prime Minister remained sceptical about it being the best way forward. He added that the Department of Communities and Local Government (DCLG) and the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) were investigating alternative regeneration ideas, with findings due later in the autumn.
Reporters were told that the report from the Gambling Commission and the DCMS's work were important considerations in the ongoing review.
He concluded by saying that nobody should be left in any doubt of Mr Brown's opinions, as they had not changed since his statement in July.
