Online Casino Firm’s Revenues Soar
Online gambling giant 888 has announced that it has bounced back after last year’s profit slump with a 298 percent rise in pre-tax profits from continuing operations, hitting a total of €19 million.
The figures for the six months to June 30th stand in stark contrast to the company’s loss of 55 percent of its revenues in 2006; a knock on effect of its withdrawal from the US market post-UIGEA.
‘This strong result, for what is traditionally one of the seasonally weakest months of the year, leads us to believe that we will see additional growth in the second half,’ said Chief Executive Gigi Levy.
888, which operates the brands Casino-on-Net and Pacific Poker, is also continuing to strengthen its brand with the addition of backgammon and bingo to its gaming range and an expansion into the Latin American market with the creation of online gaming sites for Tower Torneos.
