SA Poker Open Dates Announced
The schedule for the upcoming second annual South African Poker Open has been announced with the tournament’s organiser offering a $6,000 all-inclusive event package.
The Open is to take place from February 5 to 11 at the Montecasino in Gauteng and will include three events that organiser Poker Media Ltd believe will help boost the already rising popularity of poker in South Africa.
February 5 will see the start of a $494 two-day no limit Texas Hold’em Freezout event while a two-day $494 no limit Omaha High series will start the following day. February 7 sees a special one-day ‘Last Chance’ Super Satellite while the three-day Main Event begins on February 8.
The special package is to include entry into all three events, seven nights accommodation at the Montecasino, a cocktail evening and closing dinner gala, transfer-excluding flights and all meals during the championship week.
Last year’s event saw American player Jaime Vilela defeat a field of 105 players to claim the first South African Poker Open title.
