New Planet Hollywood Casino could be ace
The new Planet Hollywood Casino and Resort in Las Vegas is set to officially open on November 16th and a whole new list of celebrities have signed up to act as ambassadors, including tennis star Pete Sampras.
While the original company was forced to file for bankruptcy twice, founder Robert Earl is confident of the new venture, which will again see Sly Stallone and Bruce Willis as co-investors.
Despite losing over $1 billion when Planet Hollywood crashed, Mr Earl retained control of the company and is determined to make the new Planet Hollywood Casino and Resort a success.
Built on the site of the old Aladdin Casino, the new mecca will offer 2,500 rooms, with penthouses named after celebrities. When the stars are in Las Vegas, they will reserve the right to the rooms, but the penthouses will be open to tourists starting from $599 a night for the remainder of the time.
It will also house a 7,000-seat theatre for movie premieres, a news studio and new nightclubs. "I can't abide by failure," Mr Earl said. "I've been strongly trying to communicate to everyone that 'this is not your old Planet'."
The new casino cost $650 million to build and experts on the gambling industry have applauded the facelift.
