Five stars signed up to GBT Grand Final
The Great British Poker Tour (GBPT) Grand Final has already attracted five key US poker faces, with Phil Laak, Antonio Esfandiari, Jennifer Tilly, Robert Williamson III and Jamie Gold all set to take part.
With the action taking place at the Gala Casino Harbourside, Bristol, from November 5th to11th, the US poker stars will all hope to take the GBPT title back across the pond with them. All of the above have had massive success at the World Series Of Poker (WSOP) and the World Poker Tour. Laak and Esfandiari have won $4 million between them in poker tournaments, while Tilly can boast a WSOP bracelet. Robert Williamson III is the US Poker Nations Cup captain and Gold broke records when he scooped $12 million as 2006 WSOP champion. GBPT tournament director Thomas Kremser said: "So far in the GBPT we've seen some really high standard of poker from local amateurs holding their own against the UK and European pro-players, so it'll be a fascinating contest to see what drama will unfold with these star names of World Poker in the frame." The GBPT Grand Final Main Event will have a collective £650,000 prize pool after adding on buy-ins from side events and the champion will win a seat at the Bellagio Five Diamond World Poker Classic in December.
