Absolute Poker – Super User Story Rages On

The accusations of Absolute Poker harbouring ‘superuser’ accounts have been flying around various Internet forums in the past few weeks, and Absolute felt strongly enough to issue a statement through Mark Seif’s blog. They declared that no evidence of wrong doing had been found, and that investigations would continue.

That didn’t please ‘CrazyMarco’, a player who had finished second in a $1,000 Sit and Go to a player he suspected of being able to see other players hole cards. CrazyMarco asked for the hand history of the tournament, but received what appeared to be an excel file not only showing his hole cards but the holdings of some of the other players. The findings were suspicious to put it incredibly mildly, with the suspicious player (‘Potripper’) playing almost perfectly. What was even more worrying were reports that an observer with a very low account number – suggesting an admin or test account - and an IP address stemming from Costa Rica watched all bar the first two minutes of the sit and go. The relevance of this? Absolute Poker is based in Costa Rica.

So far there has been no official response to the new findings, but be sure that more pressure will be places on the site to find fresh answers to the growing numbers of questions.
