Despite the passage of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA), millions of Americans are continuing to gamble online without hindrance.
According to the many blogs that have been helping US-based players carry on gambling, not much has changed since the passage of UIGEA with almost all online gambling sites still accepting American players.
'Not much has changed since the deadline passed,” said Dave Chance, the owner of a leading blog.
“All the major players accepting US players before are still accepting them. No one has changed policy and I doubt many people would even have noticed that the deadline had passed. For all intents and purposes, it is still legal for US citizens to gamble online, as long as they can fund their account.'
Two blogs, USCasino.blogspot.com and UnitedStatesOfPoker.blogspot.com, are leading the way in instructing US citizens on how to carry on playing online in the form of help with understanding the law and providing lists on all poker and casino sites still accepting US players. They state that, while it is not as simple as it used to be to fund accounts, it is still possible to have an account up and running quickly if players follow their instructions.
However, although many Americans have moved back to gambling online, the sites state that some are still hesitant as they are not sure whether or not they are liable to be prosecuted.
