The creator of the World Poker Tour, WPT Enterprises Inc, has announced two experienced additions to help develop its player base along with increasing its marketing efforts.
The former Vice-President Of Poker Software Development for CryptoLogic, Andy Goetsch, has joined WPT and will serve as its Executive Vice President Of Online Gaming.
WPT said that Goetsch has extensive strategic planning and poker experience in the online gaming market as he oversaw the launch of WPT's real money gaming site, WorldPokerTour.com, on CryptoLogic’s shared network. He is not only a senior executive with 21 years of experience in strategic planning, technology, finance and mergers and acquisitions but is also an avid poker player with gaming knowledge in both the online poker room environment and consulting for various Internet gaming sites.
WPT said that Goetsch is to focus the power of its brand to develop the player base, liquidity and online gaming revenue on WorldPokerTour.com by creating marketing platforms and unique offerings that will attract and retain Internet players.
Rohin Malhotra is to serve as WPT’s Managing Director Of International Sales And Marketing and brings knowledge of television networks, production and distribution to the role.
Malhotra has moved from Fox Sports where he was an Executive Advisor and will leverage his knowledge and experience to maximise WPT’s content library across television and multimedia platforms. His charge is to strategically distribute and utilise WPT’s content in traditional and non-traditional media platforms while building the brand and translating the exposure into traffic and players for its online gaming site.
'Andy and Rohin's incredible experience inside and outside of the poker industry are major assets that will complement the diverse professional background of the WPT management team,' said Steve Lipscomb, Founder, President and Chief Executive Officer for WPT.
'We realise that a healthy and successful business works from the inside out, which is why we continually focus resources toward hiring the best in the business so that we can remain the best in the poker industry.'
