Yes, dreams can come true. Ladbrokes have announced that those of us who like to enjoy a pint or play poker can now do both at the same time with the announcement of the Ladbrokes Pub Poker Championship.
The competition, which begins on Sunday 28th October, will see people across the country playing poker in their local pub hoping to win one of the twenty seats being offered to the Ladbrokes Paddington Casino Final on 9th December. There will be cash prizes, as well as places on the Ladbrokes poker cruise, and an all expenses paid celebrity poker evening at the winning pub.
To take part, landlords need to sign up. If they can get a minimum of fifteen players along to the games, Ladbrokes are even offering everything you need to run your own tournament, including tables, cards and chips.
Over 400 pubs have signed up so far, and the tournament promises to be a lot of fun. Which pub will earn the bragging rights and the chance to host a celebrity poker party? Come 9th December, we will find out, and a lot of us will enjoy the chance to enjoy a beer as well as our favourite pastime. Details on the competition can be found on the Ladbrokes Poker website.
