Online Sports Exchange Shuts
Following months of speculation and rumour, online casino operator Mansion has announced the closure of its unsuccessful sports exchange.
The Gibraltar-based online gambling firm has instead opened a regular sports betting platform with a decimal pricing structure following a move for its online poker room to the major Ongame network and software.
Mansion's online casino operations run on the Playtech platform with its other online interests including the Mansion88.com operation run from the Philippines.
Mansion's owner is the Indonesian business tycoon Putera Sampoerna whose family fortune, estimated at $5.2 billion, has been built on palm oil and rubber production and more recently tobacco, automobile and telecom interests.
It has been rumoured that Sampoerna is close to a deal with another of his gambling interests, the Les Ambassadeur land casino in London, for which he paid $230 million 18 months ago. He has also been reported as considering a $180 million offer for the asset from Sportswear's Mike Ashley.
