UK's first casino school unveiled in Wales
The UK's first casino school has been established in Cardiff, teaching special skills to potential croupiers.
Professional Croupier Training (PCT) has set up the educational institution, which is independently accredited.
As many as 100 students can train at the casino school every year on either a six week full-time course or a 24 week part-time intensive program.
Once completed, students will receive an accredited qualification for 'Professional Croupier Gaming Skills' after learning about gambling laws, gambling awareness, social responsibility and conflict resolution.
Training officer and founder of PCT, Janet Miller, said: "The new National Occupational Standards are part of a move to professionalise the sector and encourage more talented people, including graduates, to pursue careers in casinos."
She added: "People aged over 18 can train as croupiers. If they have outgoing personalities, are good with figures and have dexterity in both hands, they may well have the ingredients to succeed in this business."
Ms Miller has been a professional croupier for over 20 years in casinos all over the world. She aims to develop similar centres of excellence all over Britain.
