Tattersalls Complete Purchase of Talarius
Australian gambling group Tattersalls has announced that it has completed its purchase of British slot machine operator Talarius after acquiring Macquarie Bank's 50 percent stake.
The Melbourne-based lotteries and poker machines operator formed a joint venture with Macquarie, Australia's largest investment bank, called the European Gaming Group in November to handle the acquisition. The joint venture subsequently purchased Talarius for $279 million with each company having a 50 percent share.
After tense negotiations between Tattersalls and Macquarie, the European Gaming Group is now a full subsidiary company of Australia’s second largest gambling company after the Victoria firm bought the investment bank's share for an undisclosed amount.
