Online poker website PKR.com has announced that it has achieved the landmark of serving 10,000 simultaneous players for the first time since its establishment 18 months ago.
PKR.com has invested heavily in marketing and this has paid off with the 10,000 concurrent user mark being breached on January 6 with all figures verified by independent statistics.
'A year of high-profile marketing, together with the launch of a national television advertising campaign, has left PKR.com as the most talked about poker room in the world,' said Simon Prodger, Marketing Director for PKR.com.
Prodger also announced that a major television advertising campaign for the UK will be aired in the future on both terrestrial and cable channels such as Channel 4, Five, E4, Setanta, MTV, Dave and Film 4.
Jez San, the first person to be awarded an OBE for services to the computer games industry and one of the UK’s best-known technology entrepreneurs, started Alderney-based PKR.com. The site boasts interesting reciprocal marketing partnerships including a deal with IGA Worldwide that saw in-game adverts placed across PKR.com’s play money tables last year.
'With over 1.3 million registered users, PKR is the world's fastest growing online poker site,' said Prodger.
