Casino wants its money back
When the Casino Regina mistakenly gave money away for free due to a faulty machine, punters may have thought it was raining pennies from heaven, but the casino bosses are about to bring a storm cloud onto the scene.
According to the Leader Post, a self-redemption kiosk at the casino was spewing out $20 bills instead of $5 bills, as the cassette was incorrectly loaded.
It seems that the machine, which redeems electronic slot tickets and offered change, had the wrong value of currency loaded into it.
This resulted in $27,500 being effectively nicked by people taking advantage of the mistake.
So far, the casino has managed to recover $13,400 of the total, but even those honest enough to hand over the loot have been banned for taking it in the first place.
The casino is now pursuing other gamblers who took the extra dough and were spotted on CCTV.
Not satisfied with taking back its money from those it has managed to track down, the casino is considering civil action to recover the rest of the money and has contacted the police and the legal counsel.
