92-year-old wins jackpot twice
A 92-year-old man has added to his millions after he won a casino jackpot for the second time in his life.
Elmer Sherwin from Las Vegas managed to win the top Megabucks slot machine jackpot at the Cannery Hotel and Casino, netting himself $21.1 million this week.
It is not the first time that Mr Sherwin has had the luck of the house, as in 1989, he won the $4.6 million jackpot from a Megabucks machine at the Mirage Casino.
In a statement issued by IGT, which makes the Megabucks machines, Mr Sherwin said: "I'm glad I finally hit; I've been trying to do it again."
"I want to see the looks on their [my family's] faces when they hear," he added.
The chance of winning the Megabucks progressive jackpot even once is less than one in ten million but these odds do not discourage the hardy gambler, who says he aims to win it for a third time.
He is currently the only person to have won the top prize for a second time.
