Scotland's largest casino opens
The £25 million Alea Glasgow casino is set to open this week and it will be Scotland's largest casino - the size of a football pitch to be exact.
The two-storey casino on Glasgow's Springfield Quay on the banks of the river Clyde features a restaurant, a coffee shop, three bars and a live music venue.
Harrah's owns what will be Glasgow's sixth casino, with around 180 staff and a luxurious interior.
According to the Evening Times, however, the Alea casino is not "exclusive" an exclusive venue and will be "open to everyone".
Sales and marketing manager Nicola Mackenzie told the publication: "As far as we're concerned, the days of casinos being the domain of men in tuxedos are over.
"There's no formal dress code. As long as you're smart and tidy you will be more than welcome. We want to be as welcoming as possible to everyone.
"Women are a group we especially want to see coming in. The interior design has been done by women and we think that having female designers has had a real impact on the feel of the place.
"It's also a secure environment for people to be in. We've created an atmosphere where people can have a drink or a meal, enjoy some entertainment, and maybe play some casino games."
Despite its size, the casino will still be limited to just 20 machines, with £4,000 maximum jackpots.
