Online Poker Room Sends Players To South Africa
Online casino TitanPoker.com has announced that it will be sending a four-man team to compete in this week’s South African Poker Open.
Three of the players are travelling from Canada to attend the event being staged at the Italianesque MonteCasino in Johannesburg this week while the fourth is scheduled to fly from The Netherlands.
The four players won their seats through a series of weekly super satellites at TitanPoker.com, the first time the online casino has sent players to the South African event.
One of the premier poker events in Africa, the Open’s reputation is rapidly growing internationally and the players have been awarded with an $8,000 prize package. In addition to free entry to the main event along with flights and accommodation, they are to attend cocktail parties and have the opportunity to explore the surrounding area.
'I've been playing online for around four to five years but this will be the first big buy-in tournament that I have ever participated in so I am very excited,' said Canadian Mike Byrd, one of the players representing TitanPoker.com at the Open.
TitanPoker.com stated that it would also be sending players to compete at the Irish Open and the World Poker Showdown in the Dominican Republic later this year along with hosting a massive two million dollar guaranteed prize tournament on March 2 as part of the guaranteed ten million dollar a month the site invests in tournaments.
